Applications for Volunteering at OLC

APPLICATIONS FOR VOLUNTEERING AT OLC

On this page are links to forms that are required to volunteer at OLC and to work as a volunteer with children & youth.

Everyone who would like to volunteer to work at OLC must fill out the Application to Volunteer Form. Please select that form, print it using your personal printer, fill out and complete the form, then mail to Our Lady of the Chesapeake, ATTN: STAND Coordinator.

If you are applying for a position that entails substantial contact with children & youth, you must also complete the Criminal History Form. Please select that form, print it using your personal printer, fill out and complete the form, then mail to Our Lady of the Chesapeake, ATTN: STAND Coordinator.

Additionally, if applying for a position that entails substantial contact with children & youth, you must provide three (3) written references using the Volunteer Reference Form. Please select that form, print it three times using your personal printer; have your references fill out and complete the form, and then they should mail it to Our Lady of the Chesapeake, ATTN: STAND Coordinator.

Finally, if you are applying for a position that entails substantial contact with children & youth, you must also undergo STAND training in the prevention and recognition of child/youth sexual abuse. You may obtain that training by requesting a presentation of the STAND videotape which will take approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete.

Or you may take the training online from the comfort of your own personal computer. You will be asked to enter your name as well as the name of our parish. Note that this step MUST be completed in order to receive credit for the course. Uopon successful completion of the course, you must then print out the Certificate of Completion and give the certificate to our parish STAND coordinator for inclusion in your STAND file.

In order to access the online training please follow these directions:
1. Go to the STAND training on the Archdiocese of Baltimore Child and Youth Protection web site: http://childsafeeducation.org/baltimore-archdiocese.html.
2. Type in our parish user name: ourladyofthechesapeake.
3. Password is: archbalt
4. Click on link to begin training.
5. Follow the directions on the online training web site.

If you are unable to print out a Certificate of Completion, plesse contact the Office of Child and Youth Protection by email at lgabriel@archbalt.org.

Please remember that you must complete ALL of the abovementioned steps: Volunteer Application Form; Volunteer Criminal History Screening Consent Form; three references using the Volunteer Reference Form; and completion of the STAND training, either video or computer-based. 

If you also desire to volunteer as a driver of youth to various events, you must also complete the Driving Record Consent Form.

Once all these steps are completed, we then welcome you and thank you for volunteering to help at Our Lady of the Chesapeake.
